Raleigh is rich in Parks and Trails; it is a City Priority.
To stay with the organization of the site, we will show some favorite parks and other public recreational resources in each of the four areas and add any personal thoughts. Raleigh has a well organized and informative site cataloguing in detail all of the City’s recreational assets at raleighnc.gov/parks

Eastgate Park
Eastgate Park is located between Quail Hollow Drive and Wingate Drive, and is adjacent to Hickory Hills.
Eastgate Park is 25.3 acres in area, and offers the surrounding neighborhoods a significant number of easily walkable amenities. There is an unstaffed community center, playgrounds for ages 2-5 and 5-12, tennis, soccer, outdoor basketball, and a piucnic shelter beside Cooper’s Pond. There were a number of people enjoying the Park when I was there on a nice mid-March afternoon. See the link to the City of Raleigh site for a complete description of amenities and programs.
